A zine is a little book containing drawings that are all related or similar in some sort of way. Mine all had something to do with cars weather it be a car part or a logo they all had something to do with cars. It was interesting yet fun to make and I think it turned out all right. We had to use different textures like hatching for example because you cant really shade with a pen so it was a bit tricky to figure out what places needed more hatching or cross hatching to make different values but it was worth it in the end because I learned a few new ways to shade areas if I don't have a pencil.

Next we made prints, we used a scribe which is a sharp pointed tool to scratch an image into Plexiglas, then covered it in ink and wiped off the excess, then put it through a roller which pressed it onto paper and printed the image like a stamp. What I chose to do for my image was a drawing I had done earlier of one of my favorite cars. I took a picture and shrunk it down a bit, then taped it to the back of the Plexiglas and traced over it making the etching,

Next we made a Self Portrait Lino cut. We had to chose an image of ourselves to carve into the lino then use a roller to cover the parts that were not carved away in ink and then press them against a piece of paper and then when you pealed the paper away there would be a picture left over. I chose a picture that my girlfriend took of me sitting in a storm drain because I really like the picture and its really the only picture I have of myself. The original picture is to the right and the prints of the image are beneath the original.

The next project we did was we made a t-shirt design and printed it onto the shirt. we were in a group and we all decided that we would use the car that I drew for the design. then we drew the different color layers and printed them on a transparent sheet and made screens to burn the images into using a blue light. Then after we let the light shine on the screens and the transparencies it made a mark of the layer on the screen which then washed out with water so when we spread ink over it the ink would go through to the shirt. Then we printed each layer and had a shirt

The next project we did was a mono print where we painted diffrent layers with shapes in between the colors. First I painted a jelly plate green and pressed a piece of paper on it to paint the paper, then painted it yellow green and sprinkled grass on the jelly plate before pressing the paper down on the plate to make shadows of the grass in green. Then I painted leaves yellow and put them face up on the jelly plate and pressed the paper on it again and at the end i got the picture to the right.
